One stormy night, a young couple, Sarah and Tom, were driving through a desolate forest. The rain was pouring heavily, and the dense fog made it nearly impossible to see the road ahead. They decided to take a shortcut through an old, abandoned road that led to their cabin.
As they drove deeper into the forest, the road became narrower and more treacherous. Suddenly, the car skidded off the road and crashed into a large tree. Both Sarah and Tom were shaken but miraculously unhurt. They decided to walk to the cabin, which was only a few miles away.
The cabin was old and dilapidated, with creaky wooden floors and a musty smell. They lit a few candles and huddled together for warmth. As the night wore on, strange noises began to fill the cabin¡ªwhispers and footsteps that seemed to come from nowhere.
Around midnight, Sarah heard a soft voice coming from the baby monitor they had brought along. It was a lullaby, gentle and soothing. She smiled, thinking Tom was trying to comfort her. But when the song ended, a cold whisper filled the room: ¡°Good night, little one. Mommy and Daddy will never take you from me again.¡± Sarah¡¯s heart stopped. She looked beside her¡ªTom was fast asleep, and their baby was safely in the crib.
Terrified, Sarah shook Tom awake and told him what she had heard. They decided to leave the cabin immediately. As they were packing their things, Sarah noticed something written in red on the bathroom mirror: ¡°You can never escape me.¡±
They fled the cabin, but the whispers followed them. The fog grew thicker, and the trees seemed to close in around them. Suddenly, Sarah felt a cold hand on her shoulder. She turned around, but there was no one there. The whispers grew louder, and she could hear her own name being called.
Tom grabbed her hand, and they ran through the forest, the sounds of the whispers and footsteps growing louder behind them. Just as they thought they had escaped, they stumbled upon a deep, dark well. Sarah fell in, and Tom reached out to grab her hand, but it was too late.
As he peered down into the well, he heard a soft, sinister laugh. And then, the whispers stopped.
