It was a typical Friday night. Sarah had just finished her shift at the library and decided to take a shortcut through the old, abandoned park. The moon cast eerie shadows on the cracked pavement, and the wind howled through the empty playground. She quickened her pace, feeling a chill run down her spine.
As she walked past the old fountain, she heard a faint whisper. It sounded like someone calling her name. She turned around, but there was no one there. Her heart raced as she continued walking, trying to convince herself it was just the wind.
Suddenly, she felt a cold hand on her shoulder. She screamed and spun around, but again, there was no one. Panic set in as she realized she was not alone. She could feel eyes watching her, invisible yet ever.
-presentSarah broke into a run, her breaths coming in short gasps. She stumbled over a broken branch and fell to the ground. As she tried to get up, she saw a figure standing at the edge of the park. It was tall and shadowy, with glowing red eyes that seemed to pierce through the darkness.
She scrambled to her feet and sprinted towards the park exit. The figure moved with unnatural speed, blocking her path. She could hear its low, guttural growl, and she knew she had to keep running.
Just as the figure lunged at her, Sarah awoke in her bed, her heart pounding. She looked around, relieved to find herself safe at home. But as she settled back into her pillow, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was still watching her.
